How do I get my girlfiend's dog to like me? ?

It is a bichon friese, that friendly to everyone it meets but me. These dogs are known for being friendly to strangers. When we first started dating it liked me but now it hides when I come over and won't let me pet it unless I pick it up and hold it. Sometimes it nervously shakes when I hold it. Any suggestions?
