USB Flash drive issues?

I recently bough a new 4GB flash drive. When ever i try to update the driver so it will be accessible it say driver software found but error while installing software ect. It is a plug n play device so manufacture doesn't keep drive downloads on web. my Cpu detects it when it is plugged in but list it only as an unidentified device labeled m storage. It is not listed in disk management so i can not ign it a drive letter. Works perfectly on vista, and xp
