Why don't US politicians ever criticize Israel?

What's wrong with criticizing Israel? I don't understand why US politician cann't or don't want to criticize Israel. I don't know any US politician, well except for President Carter, who has criticized Israel actions and their illegal settlements. I mean, It's not black or white thing. It's ok to criticize Israel and still be pro-Israeli. I dont see anything wrong with that? Do you?
