What sounds and characteristics do you ociate with action and love scenes (in movies of any type)?

I am doing a study about film music and what sounds and instruments people ociate with different genres in films, mainly action and love scenes. I have to write a piece of music for a short film that is instantly recognisable as love music or action music. Your answers are valid and examples would be even better! Thanks
